Christmas Deliciousness!

Well, this definitely was not a cake, but it was delicious none the less.
This is a big platter of Christmas delicousness!!!
On this platter are cake balls (a super favorite of everyone), chocolate-covered cherries, and peanut butter balls (called buckeyes by some).
I love making homemade candies and most of my recipes are (at least) third generation recipes passed down through my family.

Neighbors 6th Birthday

My neighbor's son loves Transformers, so they wanted me to make a cake of the Autobot emblem.
The cake was hand-cut and was decorated in gray icing and topped off with edible silver glitter to make him shine like a real metal-bot. It was outlined in simple black.
The cake itself was a white cake that I tye-dyed. The tye-dye was a secret & the kids were so excited when they cut the cake & found 5 different colors!!
I made sure to have a yellow cake with chocolate frosting ready for the adults.
This was a big hit!

Co-Workers' Birthday Cake

I made this cake for a co-worker. She is a huge chocolate fan & had never tried chocolate and berries together, so I made a chocolate cake edged in Kit-Kat bars and topped with strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries.
The cake itself was 2-layers, chocolate & was filled with a light and fluffy chocolate frosting. The topping under the berries was dark chocolate ganache.
The only thing I brought home was crumbs from this cake!
It was delicious!!!

My son's first birthday cake

Even though my son is 6 now, I thought I would post his very first birthday cake.
For this birthday I made a 3-D rubber duck cake.
He, being only 1, still loved his cake & the family thought it was great!

Newest cake theme? Baseball!!!

Well, this weekend has been great! On Friday I made a new cake design for a 13-year old's birthday party. The theme was baseball.
I made the cake based on old-time baseball. The main portion of the cake was a baseball jersey complete with the birthday boy's name and the number was 13 for his 13th birthday. The baseball glove was hand-cut cake decorated with chocolate frosting and the baseball was made out of a Hostess Sno Ball (with marshmallow coating removed).
The entire cake was a hit with his whole family!
